|Powell's Amaranth Flowers
Powell's amaranth is an
annual. Leaves are shiny, entire, and lack hairs. Lower stem, particularly of seedlings,
is tinged red. Often confused with redroot pigweed. Leaves are more diamond-shaped or
pointed than redroot pigweed, and flower bracts are longer and pointed.
