USPest.org has been under continuous development since the 1990s.
Over that time, it has received funding from many sources. The most important one has been the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), particularly USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) program.
USPest.org depends on weather data and weather forecasts. We have used weather data from a number of sources. For weather observations, our principal source is Synoptic Data.
Our weather forecasts come primarily from the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD), a service of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Most of the models we use have been developed by others and published in scientific journals. We have attempted to provide links to these publications wherever we provide information about the model.
Location search using place names (geo-coding) is by OpenCage, using data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
USPest.org is a service of the Oregon IPM Center, which is a part of Oregon State University. The university has provided many kinds of infrastructure, as well as the context in which USPest could be built.
