The following pesticide information is provided by the Pesticide Notification Network, a system operated by Washington State University's
Pesticide Information Center, for the Washington State Commission on Pesticide Registration.
As a result of the Washington Toxics Case, 54 pesticides used in California and the Northwest will
potentially receive additional buffer requirements for ground and aerial applications. (The 54 active
ingredients are listed in the attachment portion of this notification.)

USDA would like to know what crops are in the field that may still require one or more applications of
these 54 active ingredients prior to the end of 2003. The judge has recognized that eliminating any
sprays necessary to harvest a crop in the field could have devastating consequences on this year's
crop. He has agreed to take input from USDA regarding when to implement his order to impose spray
setback buffers.

Anyone with information on this subject should contact Jane Thomas at 509-372-7493 or
jmthomas@tricity.wsu.edu by September 4. WSU will compile any information received and will
forward it to USDA.

A copy of the list of 54 and map of the affected area have been posted on the PNN Web page at
www.pnn.wsu.edu .
The information contained in this notification is not to be used as a substitute for obtaining and reading pesticide labels. Information
provided by the PNN is neither a recommendation nor an endorsement by either Washington State University or the Washington State
Commission on Pesticide Registration.
The Pesticide Information Center also operates a Web page containing current pesticide registration and label information. The Pesticide
Information Center On-Line (PICOL) can be found at http://picol.cahe.wsu.edu.
