Digital Terain Elevation Data - Level 1 (DTED-1) produced by
the Defense Mapping Agency and distributed by the USGS
Elevation data above mean sea level for the spearfish database.

DMA data is generated at a scale of 1:250,000.
The original data resides on a half inch computer tape.  The
data was extracted and processed into cell format using
the DMA tape reading and processing tools provided by
GRASS.  Elevation data on the tape was in meters above sea
level and was rescaled into categories 1-241,243,245-251,254,
255, with each category representing a unique interval of
elevation above sea level in meters.
